7.3.09 (Song Three): Mosquito

Not a lot of free time today.  I got the idea for this one yesterday on a hike, then fought out the verses this morning.

Mosquito, mosquito,
Leave me alone
You’re better off tryin’
To get blood from a stone.

You sting like a bee and you buzz like a fly
You come from the swamps and you live in the sky

Your kinfolk and cousins have been by before
And so my skin is all swollen and sore

This keg has been tapped, this well is dry
My veins have been drained, and yet you still try

There is nothing left of this human buffet
You’d be best served to find some other prey
